Drive it like you rented it….

Our nice friends at Sixt Miami issued us with this fully loaded GLS450 in February.  I always rent from Sixt; always get nearly new cars and they are always nicely specified.

This one had 200 miles on it at pick-up, 1,200 on it when we returned it a week later.

In the UK this would be a massive vehicle, in Florida it felt medium-sized.  Whilst it was not the last word in cornering excellence it was quick; the GLS450 has a Turbo-charged 3.0 V6 petrol engine producing 362 bhp.

The kids loved the interior space, Sixt configured it in black with a beige perforated leather and sunroof which made it a nice place to be.  The rear row of seats folded electrically and even with them up there was loads of room.

For a family of 4 with 2 tall teenagers it was a perfect holiday vehicle.

The sound system was average, the only thing not un-specced on our rental.

Would I buy one with my own cash?  Probably not; I would have a Q7 instead.  But for a week it was great, no complaints at all.
